With the 2014 IFBA World Broomball Championships now around half a year away, promotion for the historic event continues. In recent weeks we have seen promotional events on both sides of the pacific take place. In Tomakomai the local broomball association hosted the American Navy for some friendly competition. No word on who won the games but the sport is definitely the winner. Images are from the Facebook site. (www.facebook.com/WorldBroomballChampionshipsTomakomaiJapan2014) Also in Japan and Tomakomai was the All Japan Cup. The rinks were given a shake down as was the Statistics program that will be in use for the World Championships. The fourth sheet in the new arena is still under construction with workers now very used to snowy conditions as like parts of Canada the snow and colder weather continues. We are assured that it is on track and will be finished well before we all arrive.
In the USA
In The USA at the USA Nationals held in Minnesota members of the IFBA Executive were in attendance and set up ‘shop’ to promote the World Championships. The visual nature of the booth and having the IFBA President and VP-Admin on site drew much interest with many stopping to seek information about the IFBA and the event in Japan.Teams are still welcome to register for the 2014 IFBA World Championships in Tomakomai, Japan and we have spots available for Men’s, Women’s and Masters teams. The host has continued to source out major sponsors for the event which add to making this World Championship a very special one not to miss.
