The IFBA Board has held a meeting today where the current Covid-19 issues were discussed at length with regard to the running of the 2020 IFBA World Broomball Championships in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
The IFBA Board are aware that for teams and international members who will be sending teams there is a finite time available to organise and set in place the necessary details to send those teams.
The IFBA Board has therefore decided that all should consider that the event shall take place as promoted and continue to register teams in accordance with that decision.
The IFBA Board will continue to very closely monitor the trends and restrictions around the world and will be continuing to meet and discuss all updates and information as it comes to hand.
As always the IFBA Board has at its uppermost the safety of all persons who participate in the sport and it will be that we focus on into the future.
Not withstanding any enforced new or additional requirements by Governments around the world, The World Health Organisation as a global resource in this matter or local restrictions, the IFBA Board has set a Board meeting for May 24th additional to any meetings we will have, where we shall consider the current climate at that time and make a final decision on behalf of the member associations and host by no later than June 1st 2020.
A similar letter outlining the current decision of the IFBA Board has been sent to all Member Associations who will be kept appraised of details as they are issued.
Further questions on this matter will be responded to, please send them to the following address: email@example.com.
